I look to cultivate a space for vulnerability and healing by focusing on the present together. This space allows folks to make contact with their deeper selves and experience how they relate to both themselves and others. By attuning to this awareness together, we can face your most rejected parts, develop insight into what matters most, and process your suffering with safety and support. We do this by focusing on all parts of your experience, exploring how your past continues to affect your present, and challenging the ways we repress and avoid—all the while fostering a relationship that is nonjudgemental, safe, and accepting.
My professional training was split between the gestalt and psychodynamic traditions, which both inform my approach to treatment. I also have trained in IFS, AEDP, and coherence therapy, which have all deepened my experiential repertoire. Otherwise, my background is largely informed by my own experiences in therapy and a passion for holistic care. I have a particular passion for the LGBTQIA+ and military affiliated communities.
I believe that therapy should be more than "getting through" life by just managing symptoms. I believe that significant and meaningful change is possible through shared awareness, experience, and a type of self-compassion that recognizes the whole self. I believe that these whole selves are complex—but not chaotic. If you do too, I'd love to work with you.
I am a big proponent of Floatation-REST and have regularly practiced sensory deprivation for the last decade. I am also a forever nerd and love a good dose of D&D on the weekends. Otherwise, my not so guilty pleasures are pretentious films and British panel shows. And as a lifelong upstater, I enjoy getting out into nature and having a birdfeeder right outside my window.
