Meet Phillip

Phillip Tenenbaum LMHC

Everyone needs a strong support system, especially when our lives begin to feel overwhelming. In my practice, I treat individuals of all ages, ranging from childhood to adulthood, in addition to families and couples. Having practiced mental health counseling in NYC since 2016, I have dealt with a wide selection of clinical issues, including anxiety, depression, stress, trauma, substance abuse, anger management, neurodivergency and behavioral issues.

I supervise Mental Health Counseling Limited Permit holders in NYS (MHC-LPs), as well as have relationships with the mental health counseling internship programs at NYU, St. John’s University, Wake Forrest University, and Antioch University. My supervision style is supportive and collaborative, allowing room for growth in clinical practices and building a strong professional relationship.

In my practice, I combine interpersonal and cognitive approaches, tailored to the individual. I work with adults to understand their difficult emotions or unwanted habits. For children and adolescents, I work with the parent, together identifying effective treatment solutions. For couples, I combine individual attention with time together to gain higher understanding of your partner.
